Our Company

TLC Consultancy has a history that dates back to 1992. The capacity of the business is currently vested in its founder A. J. Hakim Yamini who brings a unique and meaningful array of experiences and insight to the business and the clientele we serve. The second ring of capacity comes from a network of close business associates that can be called upon to provide professional support for projects secured by the company.

TLC Consultancy envisions organizations (for profit and not for profit) and communities that are planned, developed and operated based on principles of sustainability; we envision women, men and youth expressing their fullest potential where accountability, responsibility, creativity, productivity and prosperity are intended consequences.

Our Mission

TLC Consultancy aims to apply our unique set of insights, experiences and capabilities to help our clients grow, develop and maintain organizations (and projects) that are based on principles of community sustainability, thus empowering their organization to successfully actualize and project its vision and mission throughout local, national and global channels.

Our Background

While working with the U.S. Department of Commerce, our founder was inspired to establish a family project that would give his children experience in operating a business enterprise. In 1992, TLC Estate Management Services, LTD was formally organized. In 1993, TLC Estate Management Services, LTD began providing consulting services in the areas of community development, capacity building and training. In 2004, the name of the business was changed to TLC Sustainable Community Development Corporation (TLC-SCDC). In 2010, the name was shortened toTLC Consultancy.

From 1993 to present,TLC Consultancy has enjoyed working relationships with a number of clients within the public and private sectors, including agencies of city, state and federal government as well as a host of business clients, community organizations and foundations around the country.

The name TLC is intended to convey the potential for “Total Living in Community”. It is the environment provided within natural community life that supports the highest potential for human development and well being. -- A. J. Hakim Yamini
